Synesthesia
I have synesthesia which is the crossing of two senses. In my case, my absolute pitch is crossed with my perception of color, so that I 'hear' colors and 'see' pitches. This plays out with my graphic design work as well as my music analysis.
My Logo![]() It is an amalgation of my initials: tk. It also uses 5 lines, which is my favorite number, as well as creates a 3:2 pattern which is my favorite polyrhythm. The colors blue, red, and white are what I see for D, F, and A respectively, creating a D minor chord the key of death and fate. It is my favorite key with some of my favorite pieces, the Mozart Requiem and the Beethoven Tempest Sonata. The specific shades of red and blue are taken out of my banner photo to the right.

Banner Photo![]() I took this picture on an airplane as I was departing Hong Kong. In high school I toured six cities in China playing bassoon with my youth orchestra. We played Tchaikovsky Symphony No. 6, Rhapsody in Blue by Gershwin, and El Salon de Mexico by Aaron Copeland.

Synesthesia ProjectI have absolute pitch and synesthesia. This means that I hear notes as colors. I am working on a project to represent what I see when I hear music to other people.
